Eligibility Criteria
  • Minimum 16 years of education - BS Banking and Finance/BBA/MBA-2 years/BS Commerce (with specialization in finance or banking) or equivalent
  • Minimum 2.5/4.00 CGPA OR 50% marks under annual system.
  • GAT General (NTS) with at least 50% score OR UGAT as per university rules.
  • Interview 



Introduction to MS Banking and Finance

The MS banking and finance is designed to develop the intellectual ability of researchers through understanding the academic body of knowledge in the field of banking and finance with specializations in banking and Finance. The program is designed to facilitate scholars to uncover the classic and recent global and regional body of knowledge and prepare them to generate knowledge and solutions, particularly for local and regional businesses, industry, and society.

 

Scope                         

Banking and Finance industry is experiencing a severe shortage of experts and trained workforce particularly in the Islamic Financial Services area. A primary objective of this program is to develop knowledgeable and capable executives and workforce to move quickly to key positions in the financial services sector and to demonstrate the skills necessary to tackle problems within the complex world of banking and finance.

The MS program is essentially a research-based degree program intended to investigate and find solutions to the problems besetting our national economy. The program will provide substantial training in a range of research techniques and methods used in the banking and finance and understanding of their theoretical and philosophical underpinnings. The research-based dissertation will enable our students to apply research skills and develop in-depth knowledge in a specialized area. Our philosophy is that postgraduate banking and finance students need the understanding and skills associated with high-quality academic research. This approach applies equally to those who become either academic scholars or professional practitioners. This program also serves as an entry point for our doctoral Program.

“To produce research scholars who are equipped with research skills, banking, and finance knowledge to meet challenges of industry and community. The program aims to produce professionals who are creative and innovative by using empirical and applied research learning techniques”.

 

Program objectives:


  1. Equip students to have a systematic understanding of theoretical concepts in Banking and Finance and provision of interface between the knowledge and practice. 
  2.   Equip students with critical awareness of current problems and new insights in Banking and Finance. 
  3.  Equip students with comprehensive practical understanding of the techniques of enquiry and research used in the sector, and of how they are used to create and interpret knowledge.     
  4.   Equip students with adequate conceptual understanding for evaluating current research and creating knowledge base in the banking and finance world.

 

Program Outcomes

After completion of the program:


  1. Graduates will be capable to apply the theoretical knowledge in practices.
  2. Graduates will have awareness about currents problems and new insights in Banking and Finance. 
  3. Graduates will have comprehensive practical understanding of the techniques of enquiry and research used in the sector, and how they are used to create and interpret knowledge.
  4.  Graduate will be capable of evaluating current research and creating knowledge base in the banking and finance world.

Introduction

 

The growing market of Islamic Banking and Finance creates a high need for banking and finance professionals, who are equipped with Islamic financial sector’s knowledge and who are able to address the ongoing challenges faced to this market. The global awareness of Islamic financial markets intensifies the need of producing skills in the area of Islamic banking and finance. The MS-IBF provides students with the opportunity to become a good Islamic financial knowledge bearer to cater the ever-growing demand for a human resource in the area. MS-IBF program is to prepare students well versed with conventional as well as Islamic financial system to contribute nationally and internationally in the banking sector.

 

Scope

After completing the degree students will have ample opportunity to join Islamic financial institutions, Islamic investment, mudarabah , mutual funds and takaful companies. There is an increasing number of companies acquiring the consultation of experts in Shariah and Islamic finance. Graduates of MS-IBF will be the relevant candidates for such companies. Graduates of MS-IBF can also get administrative position in any of the private, public and nonprofit organizations for their expertise in the area of Islamic banking and finance.

·       Age should not be more than 22 years on last date of receipt of application. 

·       Some seats are reserved for Refugees, Army, Sports and Non-subsidized etc.
