History
The provision of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Kotli (UoK) began in mid-2020. This also made the university pioneers in AI in Azad Kashmir and one of pioneers in Pakistan. The Bachelor of Artificial programme started in the 2020/21 academic session, with an initial intake of 43 students.
Artificial Intelligence Department at University of Kotli is centered around the study and development of intelligent, autonomous systems. Our research focuses on practice and theoretical foundations as well as applications of AI in building intelligent systems across core areas concerned with the development of systems that exhibit behavior typically associated with human cognition, such as perceiving, learning, communicating, reasoning, making decisions, and acting in a physical and social environment. Department primarily focuses on machine learning, natural language, speech processing, computer vision, robotics, autonomous agents and multi-agent systems, human-machine interactions and collectives, cognition, computer vision and imaging, audio-visual signal processing and human modeling and security.
The BS(AI) program is a four-year program fully taught in English giving the students an in-depth knowledge they need to transform large and complex scenarios into actionable decisions. The program and its curriculum focus on how complex inputs such as knowledge, vision, language and huge databases can be used to make decisions to enhance human capabilities.
The minimum requirements for admission in a bachelor’s degree program in Artificial Intelligence program is as following:
a) At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Mathematics or equivalent qualification with Mathematics, certified by IBCC.
OR
b) At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Pre-Medical or equivalent qualification, certified by IBCC.
Deficiency:_ _
“Students with pre-medical must have to pass deficiency courses of Mathematics of 6 Credit hours in first two semesters.”
Study Plan for BS(Artificial Intelligence)
Following are the proposed areas which are required to be covered to complete the degree. Covered areas consist of core courses (compulsory), foundation courses, general courses and electives.
