Introduction

In order to fulfil the large demand of banking and financial sector, Department of Banking & Finance was established in 2012. The purpose of this department is to equip students with advanced and up to date knowledge about the field of banking and finance. The degree programs offered aim that our graduates will successfully utilize their flair in various sectors of banking and finance as well as manage their own business. Following are the programs offered by this department.

  • BS (Banking & Finance) Program

BS (B&F) 4 years (8 semesters) program at UoK was started in 2012. Here students are guided to implement theory into practice, students can became innovative and competent finance managers and bankers. The program has unique combination of in-depth case studies, real world projects and lectures delivered by exceptionally hardworking and knowledgeable faculty.

The curriculum followed in this program is HEC approved. One of the main feature of this program is that it is well accepted in banking as well as corporate business & banking areas in Pakistan. It is also known for teaching excellence and high academic standards with practical application in dynamic banking environment.

Job Opportunities

Banking and Finance is a professional degree program. As the study scheme of this program is well arranged especially for the field of banking and Finance, students has more chances to serve in different organizations such as:

Eligibility

The eligibility criterion for admission in BS (B&F) is:

  • The candidate must be an Azad Jammu & Kashmir National for open merit.
  • Candidate should hold Intermediate degree (2 years) in F.A/F. Sc. /I. Com and ICS or equivalent with at least 2nd division from any recognized institution.
  • Age should not be more than 22 years on last date of receipt of application.
  • Some seats are reserved for Refugees, Army, Sports and Non-subsidized etc.

  • Master of Science in Banking and Finance (MS B&F) Program

Welcome to the MS (Banking & Finance) 2 years Program at the University of Kotli. The objectives of this program is to acquaint the students with recent trends and issues in banking & financial education and enable them to critically understand and interpret banking & financial environment & its prevailing realities. This program is designed to facilitate the students in strengthening their skills & knowledge vis-à-vis banking & financial industry nationally and internationally.

The emerging global scenario necessitates the banking sector & other organizations to look for capable professionals and researchers in banking & financial sector being competent of responding to the changing market needs and requirements having the capacity to analyze the complex problems, make rational decision and effective leadership role. This is a unique program that emphasizes qualitative & empirical approach to deal with risk and return trade-off problems in both banking and other financial sectors.

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Financial Management (2 Semester)

Introduction

The Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Financial Management is designed to meet rapidly enhancing career in banking industry. Banking industry in Pakistan is emerging as one of the largest employment generating sectors for the youth of nation. In order to provide a concrete foundation to the students of commerce, business and to the graduate employees of banking sector this diploma course is designed because the present multidimensional banking sector of Pakistan needs specialized, skilled and technical manpower, fully equipped with the banking knowledge.

This diploma course will fulfill needs of banking industry and also contribute towards the economic development of the country. Therefore keeping in view the importance of this diploma it is hereby planned to offer at this stage under Department of Banking & Finance.

Eligibility

The graduates having at least 45% marks are eligible; however, preference will be given to commerce, business and banking sector employees.

Scheme of Studies

This program will consist upon 1 year (2 semesters) duration. In each semester four courses will be offered.
